So let me update you on whats been happening with me recently... Well I started at college in September to do a foundation year which is something that lots of uni's like you to have- but not only that you learn sooo much, I think if I hadnt have done this year my portfolio wouldnt have quite enough in there to get me into a good uni, and I would have missed out on sooo much- its things like experiencing life drawing- even if nuddy Rupert is a bit strange... its a years worth of learning- and life drawing is hard work sometimes but when you see the improvements in your work its great. Ive had chance to try my hands at graphics- which isnt technical drawings like at gcse, ceramic's, sculpture, fine art, textile and then skills like printmaking and photography- where I have learnt to develop...
My work seems to be getting there too- and one thing I never thought I would say but i'm enjoying all aspects of it- even textiles!!! The friends I have made are fantastic and its Christmas break at the moment and I miss them all sooo much- I love being with people that are in the same situation as you- all wanting to do art and looking for similar courses- it makes it easier to know what uni's are good and which ones the facilitys arent quite there at. Ive found my self-experimenting with new things and although my first project wasnt as good as I visualized it to be- its still the most work I have done and to be done in only 8weeks was a great experience...
So for the first 8 weeks we had a go at everything that we wanted to try out and then we specialized to about 2 subjects each- me being me wanted more lol so I am now taking Fine Art, 3D multimedia- which includes ceramics and sculpture ect and Textiles- a subject I never thought I would do- but I am enjoying it and it all builds the skills that I can use. Eventually after I have been to uni to do a BA I will do a PGCE- which is a one year teaching course which gives you a teaching qualification at the end of it... well this is the plan for the moment- but the foundation course has taught me so many skills which I will never forget- and I will only be able to build on- the foundation course has given me the opportunity to have a go and experience lots of different things. Im sooo glad that I havent skipped this year and just gone straight to a degree because I realize that my portfolio would not have looked as good as it will now with the amount of work I have already done.
So that brings me to now-- although I now do have a camera I still havent got around to photographing my work and uploading it- but I will get around to it eventually and then there will be a big swamp of work- not all good but I think that it does show my progress. Over the past three weeks things with my art have really suffered not through any fault of my own however- my dad has schizophrenia and he had a major relapse which has meant that instead of being able to get on with my work I have been daddy sitting instead- but I have come up with more ideas now which is good- I just need to get them all down and get some work done over the next few weeks- and hope that I can catch up with others in my group again, although I am taking much more than most people there are others doing the same as me which is nice because I'm often seeing the same friendly faces! I have been able to link all the three subjects to the same topic which I haven't yet named but at least my ideas will be able to relate and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to it.
Well yesterday as you all know was Christmas and I had such a great day- all of the family came to our house and in the afternoon all of the younger adults went upstairs to my sisters room and went to play on her newest present the wii- she got lots of games with it including wii fit, we had great fun playing on it. For my Christmas present my parents really spoiled me- I got a Mac book which is brilliant- and although Im use to using PC I'm sure that I will soon get use to it. Im really pleased with what I have received for Christmas this year- because I received so many fantastic present and I love them all.
I hope that you all had a good Christmas and Santa was good to you all too. I am hoping to update my gallery soon- although not all of the work will be good it will hopefully show my progress, and I also will update my journal more regularly than once every few blue moons.
Hope you are all well
Wen

Sorry for answering that late, but there were so much messages that I did not have time to answer immediately.
